Primary Purpose:    

The Tradesman Maintenance Technician II and III will be responsible for day to day HVAC and plumbing service and operations at the NNSA facility in South Kansas City, MO. The following shifts are currently available:

Tuesday – Saturday

Night Shift (11pm-7:30am)

 

Sunday – Thursday

Night Shift (11pm-7:30am)

 

Rotating 10 hour Shift

Day Shift (6am-4:30pm)

 

Monday – Friday Monthly Rotation

Day Shift (6:30am-3pm or 7:30am-4pm)

Principal Duties and Accountabilities:    

  • Execute preventative maintenance schedules for HVAC and plumbing equipment at facility
  • Work with Chief Engineer to establish work schedules for all team members to ensure 24/7 staffing of facility.
  • Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules and implement strategies to ensure 100% uptime of all systems.
  • Assist to Coordinate all work activities with NNSA and Centerpoint/Zimmer to ensure 100% uptime
  • Assist in managing operating plans and update as needed/required
  • Maintain preventative maintenance management systems, documenting all preventative maintenance tasks, repairs and incidents.
  • Coordinate general administrative work with Centerpoint/Zimmer and/or chief engineer
  • Work with Chief Engineer to execute preventative maintenance schedules and manage preventative maintenance database as directed

Management Responsibility:  

   x      Acts in capacity as “lead” person but does not have management responsibility for the people to whom direction is provided.  

 

Experience & Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in HVAC trade
  • Experience with customer management and managing relationship

Knowledge, skills, and abilities typically needed for competent performance:

  • Working knowledge of business procedures and excellent writing skills
  • Ability to manage team members to ensure 100% uptime
  • Working knowledge of computer operations
  • Keen attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service and professional communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and excel in a fast-paced work environment that includes frequent interruptions.

  • Basic knowledge of MS Office suite products recommended - includes Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
